Collection Assistant Job Description

Role:

To preserve the Credit Union's assets by controlling delinquent accounts and collecting delinquent loan payments.

Essential Functions:

  • Contacts delinquent and negative accounts by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring accounts current.
  • Provides administrative support to the Collection Manager.
  • Meets with members in relation to delinquent loans, negative accounts, and returned deposit items.

Prerequisites:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to meet and converse politely with different people. Comfortable with calling members about sensitive subjects, such as delinquent loans and negative accounts.
