In today’s fast-paced world, it’s never been more important to be sure your money is safe and secure. Starting October 1, 2021, ēCO Credit Union is excited to add a new way to protect your card from fraud.
If a suspicious charge is noted on your credit or debit card, you’ll receive a text. The message will display the amount, last four digits of your card number, and where the purchase was made. You will be able to respond in the following ways:
If valid reply YES, fraud NO. To Opt-Out, STOP.
Based on your response, you will receive a message with further information or actions to take to ensure your card is safe. The text messages are completely free to you and will not impact your message and data rates. Messages will only be sent between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.
ēCO continues to encourage you to remain vigilant when you receive calls, emails, and text messages asking for details about your ēCO Credit Union account. We will not ask you to share specific account or personal details through text message. If you are ever unsure about a message you receive, we urge you to give us a call at 205.226.3900 to confirm it’s legitimate.
