2018-2019 ēCO Scholarships

eCO Scholarship Recipients

ēCO and the ēCO Credit Union Foundation are excited to present scholarships for the upcoming school year.

The A.L. Bratcher Scholarship was established in honor of the late Reverend A.L. Bratcher, who played an instrumental role in the credit union movement. The 2018-2019 recipients are Kaley Butts and Catherine Florence.

Kaley Butts- Scholarship Recipient

Kaley Butts is a senior at Oak Grove High School, where she has maintained an impressive 3.9 GPA. After graduating, Kaley plans to attend Wallace State Community College to pursue a degree in respiratory therapy. According to Kaley, “I enjoy helping others and this pathway seems to be nothing but a great direction for me.”

Catherine Florence will be graduating from Oak Mountain High School in May. Catherine has an impressive Resume with extracurricular activities

ranging from Key Club to National Honor Society. Catherine plans to attend Auburn University to pursue the opportunity to become a physician in the United States Air Force. In her essay, Catherine said, “I understand the road will be long and at times exhausting, but I have an inner drive to succeed and continue along this ambitious path.”

The ēCO Credit Union Foundation Scholarship was established in 2017 to help an adult returning to school to change career directions or better themselves in their current career. The 2018-2019 recipient is Anitra Stallworth.

Anitra Stallworth- Scholarship Recipient

Anitra Stallworth, the eCO CU Foundation Scholarship recipient accepts her certificate from eCO COO and eCO CU Foundation President, Kenny Minton.



Anitra Stallworth is a 7th grade Science teacher with 19 years of teaching experience. She plans to complete a traditional master’s program, focusing on secondary science, at the University of Montevallo. Anitra said, “I want to provide my students with the best science education that they deserve and going back to school will equip me with what I need to be abreast of the latest pedagogy on teaching and working with middle schoolers.” The ēCO Credit Union Foundation is excited to be able to present Anitra Stallworth with the second ēCO Credit Union Foundation scholarship for $2,500, as she works to meet her career and personal goals.
