July #eCOmmunity - Lieutenant Susan Peavy

ēCO Credit Union has a strong commitment to the communities where our members live, work, and play. We are proud to recognize those who go above and beyond for their community through the #eCOmmunity initiative.

Each month, members of the community who embody the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” are nominated by ēCO employees to be “Credit Unioned.”

Ana Spratlin, Alabaster Branch Manager, nominated Lieutenant Susan Peavy of the Alabaster Police Department to be “Credit Unioned” because of her hard-working mentality, leadership, and dedication to creating a safe community.  She said, “Lieutenant Peavy is always there for the community. You often see her at city events interacting with everyone, offering a friendly conversation, or being a resource for anyone in need.”

Lieutenant Peavy has over 20 years of experience in law enforcement. She joined the Alabaster Police Department in 2006, and currently serves as the Patrol Division Lieutenant, where she supervises all of the uniformed officers. Lieutenant Peavy is the proud mother of one son.

The Alabaster Branch staff said they are appreciative of Lieutenant Peavy and her service to the community. “I nominated Lieutenant Peavy to be ‘Credit Unioned’ because of her willingness to go above and beyond for others,” said Ana.  “Lieutenant Peavy is such an asset to this community. She is always open to listen to any of our questions or concerns and take them to heart. She works hard to create relationships that establish trust, comfort, and safety between members of our community and law enforcement. Lieutenant Peavy is the same person outside of the uniform as she is while wearing it on duty. To me, not only is that a testament of a great officer, but a great person. Her desire to go above the call of duty, without hesitation, is a true embodiment of the credit union philosophy of ‘People Helping People’.”

ēCO Credit Union Alabaster Branch Manager, with the help of Alabaster Police Chief, Curtis Rigney, was proud to surprise Lieutenant Peavy with a gift basket for her service to the community at the Alabaster Police Station on July 29, 2021. ēCO also brought along doughnuts as a treat to all of the Alabaster Police Department staff for their service.

“This is just awesome! We are very fortunate to be in a community where we have good support from our businesses and our citizens,” said Lieutenant Peavy. “We recognize how important that is and we are very appreciative to be in the community and serve this community. Thank you so much!”

Alabaster Police Chief Curtis Rigney said, “Lieutenant Peavy is on my command staff and she is just a wonderful person, an outstanding leader, and very hard-working. She is very deserving and we appreciate very much that you would recognize her for her service. It means a lot to us, as a department, and a tremendous amount to Lieutenant Peavy that ēCO would recognize her for her commitment to the community. We are proud that we are one of the safest cities in the state, and have been for many years. That recognition is not only a testament to our officers, like Lieutenant Peavy but also our community. She works very hard behind the scenes, never expecting any kind of recognition. For me, particularly, I am so proud and appreciative that she received this recognition. Thank you so much!”

ēCO Credit Union would like to thank Lieutenant Susan Peavy for the sacrifice she makes each day to protect and serve. We are proud to have officers like you who are dedicated to creating a better community for us all.
