August #eCOmmunity - Kay Dummier

ēCO Credit Union has a strong commitment to the communities where our members live, work, and play. We are excited to continue the #eCOmmunity program in 2023. We are proud to recognize those who go above and beyond for their community through the #eCOmmunity initiative.

Members of the community who embody the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” are nominated by ēCO employees to be “Credit Unioned.”

Riverchase Branch Manager, Merry Chesser, nominated Kay to be “Credit Unioned” for August. “I nominated Kay because of her continued service and persistence within the community. She is always busy with assisting others and getting things done”, said Merry.

Kay is a retired teacher. She taught in the Shelby County School System for over 27 years. She continues to work part-time with the Shelby School System and helps with their summer programs. Kay works with a Local Cub and Webelo Scout Troup where she manages the day camp in the summer. She has been involved with boy scouts for over 51 years. Kay is also a bookkeeper at her son’s law firm. Some of her hobbies include reading a good book, solving word puzzles, and creating fun memories with family and friends.

“The most rewarding part of my job and serving within my community is that I just enjoy doing what I do. I just love it and do what needs to be done”, said Kay.

“I have been with ēCO Credit Union for decades. Seeing everyone here to nominate me to be “Credit Unioned is really cool. It makes me feel happy, thrilled, and I am glad to be here today”, said Kay.

ēCO Credit Union employees and her family surprised Kay with a gift basket and  VISA gift card at the Riverchase Branch.

Thank you, Kay, for having a great impact on others and continuing to do great things for the community! We are so grateful for people like you that are always happy to help others and being the exact representation of what the credit union stands for, “People Helping People”.
