June #eCOmmunity - Larry Brymer

ēCO Credit Union has a strong commitment to the communities where our members live, work, and play. We are excited to continue the #eCOmmunity program in 2022. We are proud to recognize those who go above and beyond for their community through the #eCOmmunity initiative.

Each month, members of the community who embody the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” are nominated by ēCO employees to be “Credit Unioned.”

Angela Heathcock and Merry Chesser, Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager of the Riverchase Branch, nominated Larry Brymer to be “Credit Unioned” for June. They said, “Mr. Brymer has a true servant’s heart. In this busy world, Mr. Brymer takes the time to do the small things that make an individual feel truly special in a genuine way.”

Larry Brymer is married to his wife Vickie; they have been members of ēCO for 15 years. Mr. Brymer retired from Jefferson County Schools after being an elementary school teacher and coach for 22 years. He still serves as a substitute teacher in the area when he can. Mr. Brymer and his wife have two sons and are the proud grandparents to three grandchildren. Mr. Brymer enjoys sharing pictures of his grandchildren and bragging about them. Along with being a retired educator, Mr. Brymer is also a retired Army Veteran.

“Mr. Brymer’s kindness towards others is what sets him apart,” said Angela Heathcock, Riverchase Branch Manager. “Mr. Brymer prioritizes hard work and has been dedicated to helping others in our community with their gardens and yard work and maintaining a local cemetery. He is always willing to help anyone in need!”

“He always makes us feel so special,” said Merry Chesser, Riverchase Assistant Branch Manager. “Whenever Mr. Brymer comes by, we know we are in for a sweet story, a good joke, or he may show up with our favorite candy, drinks, or other treats to surprise us with. He is a joy to be around and always leaves us with a smile on our face and a little extra happiness in our hearts.”

The team at the Riverchase Branch surprised Mr. Larry Brymer on Thursday, June 23, with a gardening gift basket and Lowe’s gift card at the Riverchase Branch.

“I am very honored and very humbled because there are a lot of people out there that do a lot more than I do,” said Mr. Brymer. “These folks here at the Riverchase Branch are wonderful; I can’t say enough about them.”

Thank you, Mr. Brymer, for all you have done and continue to do for those around you. We are grateful for individuals like you that set an example for how we should treat one another with kindness and selflessness.
