May #eCOmmunity – William Cholewinski

ēCO Credit Union continues supporting the communities in which our members live, work, and play. We are privileged to be able to recognize people that go above and beyond for their community through the #eCOmmunity initiative. Members of the community who embody the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” are nominated by ēCO employees to be “Credit Unioned.”

Alabaster’s Member Service Representative, Nicole Baird, nominated William Cholewinski to be “Credit Unioned” for May. “I nominated Will because of his work he does for the community through his restaurant Chubbfathers,” said Nicole. “He collects nonperishable food items for local food banks and matches those donations regularly. He also takes his food truck and travels to places in the Southeast that have experienced disasters to feed families in need,” Nicole added.

William Cholewinski is the owner of the ChubbFathers restaurant. He hosts a radio program on TALK 99.5 every weekday from 6 to 7 p.m. In addition, he is a musician and will be releasing a new album this year!

When asked about the most rewarding part of his job, Mr. Cholewinski mentioned his servant’s heart is overjoyed by the people and the smiles he brings to their faces.

Married to his wife, Stephanie, for 25 years, William is a husband and a dad of 3 daughters. William enjoys making music, taking care of people, and is currently building a new podcast studio.

“Awesome! Surprised! Humbled! Grateful! It means that I get to keep doing what I have been.” said William when asked about being “Credit Unioned”.

Whether it is reinvesting in employees, partnering with the community to take care of negative lunch balances at local schools, working with the First Baptist of Alabaster Food Bank, or using his radio show to promote other local small businesses, Mr. Cholewinski fully embodies the credit union`s philosophy of “People Helping People”

“ēCO has probably saved my business on 2 or 3 different occasions over the last 11 years. I am incredibly grateful for them believing in me,” said Mr. Cholewinski. “Knowing that there are people that when the rubber meets the road will financially put their money where the mouth is and help.”

ēCO Credit Union employees surprised Mr. Cholewinski with a gift basket and generous cash gift at the Chubbfather restaurant.

Mr. Cholewinski, we appreciate what you do to help the community and educate others. Our key beliefs at the credit union are "People Helping People," and we are grateful to individuals like you who are always willing to lend a helpful hand
