September #eCOmmunity-LaVelle Noblitt

ēCO Credit Union has a strong commitment to the communities where our members live, work, and play. We are excited to continue the #eCOmmunity program in 2022. We are proud to recognize those who go above and beyond for their community through the #eCOmmunity initiative.

Each month, members of the community who embody the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” are nominated by ēCO employees to be “Credit Unioned.”

Gardendale Branch Manager, Kathryn Johnson, nominated Mrs. LaVelle Noblitt to be “Credit Unioned” for September. “LaVelle is always ready to step up to help us,” said Kathryn. “When she started at ēCO, she jumped in head first and was ready to learn, get to know the employees and members, and help all of the branches however they needed it while continuing to participate on the boards she serves on.”

LaVelle says family is her greatest accomplishment. She has been married for 28 years and is the proud mother of two children but an even prouder grandmother to four grandchildren.

“I nominated LaVelle because she is always ready and willing to help,” said Kathryn. “Whether it is answering our questions, juggling staffing, or volunteering to come to a branch to answer phones or help out, she is someone we can count on to be a helping hand, word of advice or encouragement, or problem solver.”

LaVelle currently serves as the COO for ēCO Credit Union. She has served four years on the Board of Directors of the Birmingham Area Chapter of Credit Unions and as a member of the Huntsville Area Association of Realtors, Women’s Council of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.

“I was an ēCO member before I was an ēCO employee,” says LaVelle. “To come into this organization and see that what is best for staff and members are at the heart of all decisions management makes has been an inspiring experience. The culture ēCO sets is one that I dreamed of being a part of in my credit union walk.”

Kathryn Johnson and Gardendale Branch employees surprised LaVelle Noblitt at the Gardendale Branch with a gift basket.

“I am humbled and honored. I was rendered speechless-that does not happen often,” says LaVelle.

“LaVelle is always happy, smiling, and looking for ways to help us or make our job easier and more enjoyable,” says Kathryn. “She truly cares about each employee and the members we serve.”

Thank you, LaVelle, for always being willing to lend a helping hand and leading by example! We are so grateful for people like you who go above and beyond to help where there is a need and being a true representation of the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People”.
