Members of the community who embody the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” are nominated by ēCO employees to be “Credit Unioned.”
Trussville’s Branch Manager, Trisha Bowman, nominated Deforest Satisfield to be “Credit Unioned” for October. “I nominated Mr. Satisfield for his many years of being dedicated to teach. He considers teaching his life calling”, said Trisha.
Deforest is a retired chemistry teacher and has served in the U.S Military. He taught in the Jefferson County School System for 50 years. He enjoys being involved with his church and traveling.
“The most rewarding part of my job and serving within my community is being able to be help the children.”, said Mr. Satisfield.
“It makes me feel excited and very exhilarated to know that I have been “Credit Unioned” today, said Mr. Satisfield.
Mr. Satisfield has been a member with ēCO Credit Union since 1983. He chooses to continue to work with Jefferson County School System, although, he is retired. He continues to work because he wants to make a difference in children’s lives. He embodies the credit union`s philosophy of “People Helping People” because of his commitment to helping children in the community and he has a servant’s heart.”, said Trisha.
ēCO Credit Union employees surprised Mr. Satisfield with a gift basket and generous cash gift at the Trussville Branch.
