ēCO Credit Union has a strong commitment to the communities where our members live, work, and play. Through the #ēCOmmunity program, we are proud to recognize people and community groups who go above and beyond for their community. Each month in 2020, members of the community who embody the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” will be nominated by ēCO employees to be “Credit Unioned.” Trisha Bowman, Branch Manager of the Clay Branch, nominated Danny and Mickey Hayes to be “Credit Unioned” for the month of October.

Through Credit Unions for Kids, many credit unions commit to partnering with local Children’s Hospitals. ēCO Credit Union has supported Children’s of Alabama since 2009 and is historically the top fundraising credit union in the state of Alabama.

Over the last ten years, we have raised over $350,000 to support the only free-standing hospital in the state of Alabama dedicated solely to the care of children. We only have a few days left in our 2020 Change for Children’s fundraiser and have already raised more than $40,000, including the Co-Op Miracle Match.
